An Opera For Children and Adults

Samford University commissioned this brand-new opera for children and parents from creative duo Evan Mack and Joshua McGuire. Excellent for all ages, we are taken on a journey with an 11-year-old child named Alan as he confronts his anger (personified as a dragon) in an imaginary land. On the journey, Alan learns that he’s brave enough to love the scariest thing inside himself and accept his emotions. He takes what he learns back into the real world with his parents, who learn to love Alan, each other, and themselves, better. This production is part of the Dr. Chandler and Jane Paris Smith Opera Series.
